breaking through the 1000...
The 1000th movie has been entered. Well, at least the movie – more precisely the episode – with the id 1000 is now part of our database.

It’s an episode of the first season of friends and its called “The One with the Dozen Lasagnas”. Speaking of episodes, one of the unique features of omdb is the hierarchy of movies, seasons and episodes. We implemented several subclasses for a movie, let me give you a brief overview.
MovieSeries (we’re still not sure if this is a good name, any suggestions?)
A MovieSeries is a series of Movies, like James Bond, Star Trek or Lord of the Rings. MovieSeries can have Movies or Series as children.
Series
A TV or direct-to-video-Series. These include Star Trek – The Next Generation, Friends or The Simpsons. Series can have Seasons as children.
Season
A set of episodes produced together. Most Series are produced in Seasons. For example The Simpsons – Season One or The Simpsons – Season Two. Seasons can have Episodes as children.
Episode
And finally an episode is one part of a Series, the one you enjoyed on television, like one of my alltime classics Stark Raving Dad.
